Dennis - if you run an ATI video card, go to the ATI website and download the Catalyst application. It manages the capabilities of Radeon cards and enables OpenGL under Vista for you. I needed to have it for Starry Night Download Edition - which, like Stellarium requires an operational OpenGL driver.
