Holmes in California ?
Hi Guys,
In the meantime when our lucky colleagues from Northern hemisphere observe comet Holmes at zenith, here in the South we have to fight with its very low elevation (even at the best observing conditions).
A week ago I made an attempt to catch the comet from Atacama desert. Interestingly it was passing not far from famous California nebulae and I couldn't miss that opportunity. Unfortunately, the objects were very low: 5-15 deg. above horizon only. On the other hand, high-altitude location of the observatory and clear sky helped me a little bit. Don't blame me too much, please.
