I have been following recent processing threads regarding not clipping the histogram with interest.
As a result I have been trying to do just that in all my images.
My question is about the "auto" function in the digital development menu of ImagesPlus 2.80. When I use this on images it clips the histogram straight away. Sometimes the image looks great but mostly a bit harsh.
Why does the program clip the histogram? Is it supposed to?
I just wonder why a dedicated astroimaging program would clip the hist by default when we are trying not to!!??
