Ditto what the others have said.8" dobs are a great scope..easy to use and transport plus they offer terirfic vierws!!..but to know what's out there I can recconemd a book "The Nature Gudies Skywatching..David H Levy"..It contains lots of interesting facts about certain object and how to find them ..and another book worth seeking out is "Astronomy 2008" by Quaser Publishing..this contains a month-by-month calander of celestial events plus planet rise and set times...and much more..a good way to plan your nights viewing..
