. As for the question of who set foot on the top of Everest first, this question is specifically answered in his book, probably in response to pressure from the media. If you read the book, he seems pretty matter-of-fact about the answer. The book is good reading and copies are not that difficult to find(I have one sitting around in one of my junk rooms.)I will have to leave you in suspense as to the answer
