8/P Tuttle

G'day all,

The telescope's been collecting dust for the last 3 or more weeks as I haven't felt like doing much astronomy. But yesterday I got an email from an astronomer in the northern hemisphere needing data of this comet. So I brushed off the dust and started 'er up.

I spent about an hour out there. I was pleased at how easy this comet is to photograph, even with a bit of a gusty breeze and so on.

Not much to see in this image, bit of a ... dot! and that's it really. I would guess that the tail direction was NE (2 o'clock-ish).

The gaps in the trail are RGB shots I took but haven't included (just doing this bit of processing quickly before going to work).

Enjoy

I'll be taking photo's of it for the next few days I expect.

Roger.
