G'day all,

This is the results from my attempt at photographing Mars last night:

Nothing much, but glad I gave it a shot. If I didn't I'd have been always wondering how it would've gone. I won't be trying again unless we get a good steady clear night making it worthwhile.

Last night was pretty shocking. It was clear, but the bright moon was right next to Mars, the easterly wind was gusting around probably at about 25km/hr, and general viewing stability was awful (stars blinking on and off). However having said all that, I suspect a large reason my images aren't great is just the fact I don't do much of this planetary imaging these days.

It was fun to try, but I'll be putting the CCD back on very soon and going back to that automated astronomy, so I can get some sleep

Roger.
