ok..
I use M42 as an example. I normally take a few sets of different exposures
eg:
10 x 5 mins (A)
10 x 3 mins (B)
10 x 2 mins (C)
10 x 1 min (D)
10 x 30 sec (E)
Once all these exposures are stacked, to do multiple layer masking, I use set (A) + (B) = (AB)
I then use (AB) + (C) = (ABC)
then it will become (ABC) + (D) = (ABCD)
(ABCD) + (E) = (ABCDE Final Image)
