Hi Trav, don't get too excited about it being a shower. 5 - 6 over a 45 - 60 minute period sounds less than even normal sporadics.
I've never heard of a meteor shower starting close to the zenith and shooting across the West heading northish. That would be in contradiction to the rotation of Earth for a shower, but can be fulfilled by sporadics
But be excited that you are spotting them anyway. Even sporadics are fun to watch
