Almost all those christmas lights are available as solar powered versions now. We have had the ones on the patio and a string of 60 blue LED's in the front garden for about 6 months now and they still stay on all night even after a couple of cloudy days. Its actually getting quite hard to find the ones with the small globes in them now, even the plugpack ones are LED's. Maybe someone should offer a prize for the best garden display thats totally solar powered (Don't think the power companies will be interested in backing that one )
