You have made a good point...phantom loads are so un necessary and by eliminating them a consumer can save money.. many appliances still draw power even when you think they do not. As a generalisation if you save money you reduce your carbon footprint... buying $300 worth of anything a month will be a greater footprint in general than buying $30 worth of stuff a month.
