I flick the wall power switch off on the computer, (mainly because it has a clear window and the motherboard light keeps me awake all night) but also I only use it to process my photo's, seeing as how I haven't taken many in a long time the computer just sits there, so no need for power to be running to it.
I do the same for other electronics that just sit there and do nothing when I'm not there.
