You are right, the Ethos is surprisingly light so balancing is not too much of an issue (any more than it normally is with a lightbridge anyway). I didn't really notice the coma. I have read reports that people feel the need to use a Paracorr, but it was not intrusive for me. I'm sure the Paracorr helps, but it's not a neccessity.
