or you could try making a jig out of timber or similar that holds it at a right angle. Insert it into a drill that is held in a clamp or similar to produce a rotating level. clamp the drill ON. Use an 'O' ring to roll over the button on the laser to switch it on.
Can be used either horizontaly or verticaly.
