I'd recommend the blue mountains (linden), I think the ASNSW use a place there for their observing sessions.
Light polluted badgerys creek might be ok for a get together, but if you want some dark sky new moon viewing, may as well make the effort to drive further and go darker
Just my opinion though, up to you guys
