Anyone struggling with a DSI and the junky software supplied, have a peep at Nebulosity by
Stark-Labs (same guy who wrote PHD guiding).... I had one quick session with it, and will never fire up the Meade offering again.
Simple. Intuitive. Fast. Cross-platform (plug and play support for OSX). Well supported - the fine focus tool is awesome. Supports a bunch of other cameras too, including a heap of Canon DSLRs.
Without detailed instructions I was capturing images within 5 minutes the other night.
Also offers image processing too.
The only thing it doesn't do as far as I can see is automatically subtract temperature matched darks for you, but this can be a nuisance in Autostar anyway I found.
Definitely worth a look. Very good value.
