Well, we haven’t seen a pelican post for a while, so I thought I would post a re-work of one of mine, done in CS3. CS3 has a Highlight/Shadow function that allows you to either “pull” details out of the shadows or “push” detail back into the highlights by simply adjusting sliders in a dialog panel.

My previous efforts had the Pelican’s neck and head “burnt out”, showing little detail. Using CS3 I have now been able to display the detail and texture of this beautiful bird’s feathers.

I think this photo was taken with my Minolta DiMage 5 Mp camera?

EDIT: Yes – just checked the Exif data. Minolta DiMage 7Hi.
1/500 sec at F8, ISO 100. Fixed zoom lens 28-200mm at 40mm.
