I don't have any trouble with mine, I simply don't use it.... Wobbly is the nature of the beast, the smartfinder, particularly the first version, has to be the most flimsy and useless item meade has ever produced. If it's the early version you have to dismantle it for replacement of the battery, just watch out for the springs while you are taking the screws out.
