Funny, I remember seeing a show (Qantum?) a few years ago about this subject. Basically as a set period of time becomes a smaller percentage of your lifetime, it appears to go faster. It sort of like 1% of you life always appears to take a percieved amount of time to pass.

I remember when I was at primary school, the holidays seemed to go on forever, 6 weeks is a big part of your life when you are 10 years old. Now I am a little older 6 months appears to go about as quickly and represents a similar percentage of my life.

And yes, it doesn't seem that long ago we were all going out nightly to catch the comet! I think it is about time we had another one! I am not aware of any "big things" happening for the rest of the year. Can't wait for the next issue of Astronomy 2008 to see what is on the "event horizon".
