The album is a long-favourite of mine. Picked it up in the 80s as the double LP, and then a year ago found it on CD. I even did an evening's observing with it in the background once at the ASNSW's dark site Wiruna.
It'll be interesting to see how the movie treats the topic this time around (I've seen the original movie twice). Either way, always nice to see a blockbuster sci-fi film doing the rounds.
