did you say you have the 300/4.5 ed chris? try it, its a great lens for the camera. you have to do aperture, shutter speed and focus manual but its worth it. I have to admit i was looking at the af-s 300mm f4 when i bought this one but thats 2 grand... no way i can afford that at the mo!
thinking of picking up some more Ai and AiS lenses tho. theres some cheap fast (f2.8) ones on ebay
