Answer.....tilt the scope to the side...I can set the scope on its side with around 25 cm clearance.....

Tony, If it were me I would be putting some sort of interlock to stop rolling the roof open or closed when the scope is in a vulnerable position, maybe a lightbeam sensor with a couple of solenoids.
