The DSLR will take a single image and then you can recenter the solar disc for the next shot if it has moved significantly. With the DMK you will only get short bursts of AVI to work with as the solar disc moves across the fov. You can get away with that and then stitch the AVI together with Virtual Dub or Bink and Smacker before processing in Registax, but it is much more work.
