If you want to use the DSI with a Dob then yes you will need to either get a low profile focuser, move your mirror further up the tube
or try using the lens off a barlow attached to the end of the DSI (though that will increase you magnification at the same time).
Can I ask what you would like to image using the DSI and Dob?
