This is amazing. While imaging the lunar eclipse on Tuesday an aircraft flew straight across the Moon.
What are the chances of having an aircraft cross the moon, during an eclipse, and then having the luck (or skill??)

to press the shutter at just the right moment? I think I've used up my quota of good luck for the year!
Shutter speed was 1/1600s, so the plane is frozen in flight. There is just a small amount of motion blur on the props. The hot engine exhaust causes some optical distortion on the edge of the Moon at about the eleven o'clock position.
Cheers!
