I had a lot of cloud cover, but the moon became visible every now and again. I was really surprised to see that as the Earth totally covered the moon, it actually went a shade of red.

Of course, if you look at the gif animation of the slides you will see that there is a discernible elipse cast by the shadow of the Earth. From this we may gather that the Earth has a round shape. It does not prove that the Earth is a sphere but it does prove that it may be the shape of a pie? Or does it?

Alternatively, it may not prove that at all. It may simply prove that the Moon is a sphere. The elipse is created when the line of shadow cast by the Earth bends around the Moon.
