Great work Ric. Your Ha imaging technique is coming along nicely. I note that the image on the right has a black border around the frame. This looks like it was generated when the images (subs) were drizzled or registered. Make sure you crop this out before you start processing the image as the this will affect what you see in the histogram (because the black framing becomes the black point instead of the real image background). Not sure if I've made sense. Let me know if you need a better explanation.

The lagoon has quite a vast dynamic range so lends itself to MaximDL's DDP function. I preferred not to sharpen the image as part of the DDP process. Note by default the function will sharpen the image. If you want to disable DDP sharpening enter the DDP dialogue box (see attachments) and create a filter as shown. This will disable the sharpening function. Of course you may choose to keep sharpening enabled, but I prefer to use other tools for sharpening such as deconvolution or contrast improvement masks.
