It is true – our man from Newcastle, who single handedly pulled the Pasha Bulker off the beach at Newcastle as part of his training regime, did in fact chuck the lump of metal the furthest. However, it was a competition of vectors – magnitude of throw AND angle of throw.

Unbeknown to him, the Qld spies had been observing his throws and a precise mathematical analysis determined the exact included angle of the throwing wedge, outside of which Mr H0ugh’s throws would land with a confidence of 60% ± 10%.

Well, as we all by now know, fate stepped in and took a hand. As a result, the finest and longest throw ever witnessed at the Astrofest, fell just outside the harsh, unyielding, dispassionate, unfeeling marker lines.
