I cut a strip (about 2mm thick) out from a cheap nylon chopping board brought from a $2 shop..I used flat headed nail and counter-sunk them with a nail punch to hold it in place. I gave the contact surface a brisk rub with some 400 grade wet and dry..or steelwool..it worked pretty well. It only needs a clean with metho once in a while.
