when I imaged with my EOS 300d those many years ago noise and hotties gave me really a hard time - so I picked CCD cameras.
The temperature in the dome was roughly minus 1 which was a help. Also, After the lights, I put the lens cap on the ED80 and took 19 darks for the same exposure time as the lights. That made a huge difference in noise reduction once subtracted. My camera battery went flat this time, so I didnt get to tak the 19 offsets at 1/4000 sec that i wanted to. It still turned out ok though.

I have since had another play with this image as someone on another forum told me that I need to be more "Agressive" with my processing and there was still a lot of data left on the table with this image.

The new pic has come out a lot better IMHO!
