Before I bought my first telescope I used to spend my free time doing graphic art on the computer. Usually involving 3d rendering and photoshop.
When I started in astronomy with my first telescope and taking wide field shots on it I started to incorporate astro photo's and started calling it "astro art".
Then I got sick of it and gave up
Now they look old and crap
But I will try to find some if I remember when I'm next home, they are the kind of thing you're referring to...
