We (the family) also only just got back from Mansfield/ Mt buller and the night sky was absolutely magnificent!!!!
I did bring my scope and camera but only my az alt mount because i couldn't fit the eq in.
But let me tell you, next time i will pack the eq mount even if it means means leaving other essentials behind to fit it in!!!
