I too took advantage of a clear night to have a good look at Macholz, and had a go at imaging it with the ETX /Atik 1 C combo. Will post when I get around to processing
funny colours though, I think somehow the colour setting in the Atik have gone all wonky and I need to do a reset-somehow. May have to do some fix in photoshop otr convert to grey scale
Anyway today my IR filter for the Atik arrived from Portugal so sorry folks
that explains the heavy cloud
Wanted to have a go at imaging the Helix but the moon was too close so didnt even try. Instead, I had a bit of a go at trying to image the Running Man nebula-(NGC 1977) but no luck
actually there was just enough wind to make imaging hard-tracking was woeful
still the forecast for saturday is promising, only problem may be the moon
