Eclipsing binary light curve is very different from other curves (variable stars).
Also, two dips are usually visible, each star eclipses the other one and then the other way around.. The duration of the eclipse and the dip and the shape of the curve can tell a lot about the sizes of the eclipsing star system (including masses of components)
The extrasolar planet produces very small dip, because the size of the planet is small compared to the central star.
