For those thinking that 40mm is insufficient aperture for astronomy remember that with the high transmission coatings of modern binoculars these have as much light gathering as the older model 50mm binoculars and the upside is they are small and light enough to hold all night in 1 hand. They are also excellent for children and teenagers due to their size.
