So I had a look at the base of my LX90 this morning and guess what. There aren't any holes at all except for the main central hole for the tripod. Does this mean I can't use the Ultra Wedge? I was hoping I could. Are there any other wegdes of comparable quality around?
No, it means you need the adaptor plate. This comes standard with the 8" LX90 wedge, and is also available seperately. It bolts on to the bottom of your scope with one large bolt.
I haven't had any of these bolt size issues with my Ultrawedge, and I only picked it up a couple of months ago. There is one bolt that is longer, that goes into the top hole and drops into the wedge slot easily.
In terms of stability, the Ultra is light years ahead of the standard.

Clear skies,
Shane
