Not meaning to sound negative, but why worry about 'The Bar'. Just do your best and enjoy what you are doing. Maybe someone will one day get better images, maybe not. Great if they do, but it doesn't matter. It's the journey that matters.
I'd like to take great images like that too, but I'm happy plodding along and pleasing myself with my images, and lifting my own goals.
I agree, they are fantastic images. But I feel sorry for people new to Astrophotography when they see statements like "a new standard has been set - the bar raised even higher!" Kinda makes em feel left waaayyyy behind.
Maybe I'm wong.
