Hi Monoxide,

I am also monitoring this thread.

As you can appreciate, the tolerance on the GSO Dobs for the Az encoder is tight.
However, sounds as if you have improvised it to clear.

Chances are one or more of your encoder direction sense signs is incorrect.

When you GUIDE to an object, is it nearly 180 degrees out? If so, the direction
sense signs you have are set as if the OTA has been flipped beyond the zenith
stop position. You will need to change them.
