Obs lininig: stage 1 complete

G'day all,

I spent several hours yeaterday and today working on my project to line the enclosed half o my observatory, with great progress! I'm very happy with the results.

Having never used a circular saw before, or dealt with buying steel or HardiFlex I'm really happy with what I've achieved.

I cut 34 metal struts and tech screwed them in place with brackets. They supplement what was already there enough that the HardiFlex will be well supported.

I have ordered insulation which is a type that consists of a layer of sizalation (spelling?) with 35mm of gold bat stuck to one side of it. It comes as a roll. I will be cutting pieces to suit the wall cavities and taping it in place with masking tape before putting up the HardiFlex.

Hopefully the insulation will be delivered this week, I will get it in sometime this week and next, and then in about 2 weeks my family will help put up the HardiFlex.

The observatory is quite a mess right now! But that will make it all the more nice to have it completed and tidy again.

You won't be able to really tell what I have done in the photo's, but trust me, there's 34 more metal struts than there was before.

I have decided not to put a dividing wall in, and will instead keep the curtain type idea I have to seal off the enclosed half but will have a heavier duty curtain made that us full blockout and more insulating than the current one. This will mean I retain the ability to fully open up the observatory as one room, useful in many situations.
