Orion Nebula Full Neb with Trap visible in HDR

Project: Image Orion Nebula in full, but also show the Trapezium Stars without burnout.

A collaborative work between myself and Bert.

This is the result on the Orion Nebula using differing Exposure times to Image both the Nebula and the Trapezium Stars together in the one image. Normally only one or the other can be imaged.

Firstly, I had to image M42 at different Exposure rates.

Image exposure rates: Image 1 - 1 second, Image 2 - 2 seconds, Image 3 - 5 seconds, Image 4 - 10 seconds, Image 5 - 30 seconds, Image 6 - 60 seconds, Image 7 - 120 seconds.

Images were then sent to Bert to be examined, centred in frame and converted into TIFFS.

On return of the images I had to perfectly align them and size match them exactly (to the pixel).

With remote assistance from Bert I entered them into EasyHDR in order individually, re-aligned each one manually, then ran them though the HDR-Stack process.

After HDR processing I ran the image through a light Gaussian Blur and cleaned up the Stars and Hot Pixels in PhotoShop.

Below are the seperate images and the final product, plus a close up of the Trapezium area without burnout.

Well worth 4 hours work

Thanks for the assistance Bert.
