Spring water contains salts of one kind or another doesn't it? I would think you would get a faint powdery residue from it.
Demineralised water is just that - not guaranteed to be free of solid particles like dust.
So I bought DM water from Coles and ran it through a filter paper from the coffee percolator, result was perfect when rinsing a Bintel Dob mirror.
