I know the feeling dude.
I havent bothered much through the winter and now that the nights are a little warmer I have wanted to do some observing.
Living in Melbourne, clear cloudless nights seem to be very rare.
I check the satellite cloud pics when im hopeful of a clear night. It seems theres an ever present band of cloud constantly swirling over southern Victoria. Here it seems theres only about 3-4 opportunities for good viewing each month with a moonless sky.
In the last month I took my scope out just once only to find the transparency was absolutely terrible.
