Supposed to absorb stray light. On the question about dew i suppose you could spray it with a waterproof agent. Doesn't matter what you use it will get dew on it i guess. Especially in the tropics. At the moment up my way the scope is dripping wet by 8.00pm. Got to take a towel out with me.
I need an observatory badly.LOL
Getting back on subject, it was only a suggestion. Perhaps they don't have this problem in some places.
