Thanks Arthur' I hope my new setup works out ok, I don't want to be buying another for a spell. Sounds like your getting quite a collection going there, I assume the eights are older ones are they? I was at an astro camp a month back and a guy had an older 8" meade with a simple 4 button slew control. It was on a wedge, naturally, and I was really taken by it. I could have sat behind it all night with my sky atlas 2000 beside me and using the setting circles to explore the heavens. All it needed was a tiny led on each circle to illuminate the pointer I thought. That's what I personally don't like about the chinese EQ series mount I bought. The setting circles are useless and I will have to rely on the readout of the controller. I hope I never drop it!
