So I want to view the sun safely...

All,

Just looking for some advice and experiences with solar viewing.

I am interested in using my ED 80 with a filter of some description...

Frankly, I am a bit nervous about how to get started...

Advice on which solar filter to buy (pros and cons) and any other helpful hints would be appreciated...

I understand that it is "relatively" easy to make a solar filter but for now, I am happy to buy one (most likely glass) already made...At least that way my fully sighted surviving spouse will have someone to sue (at heart I still think like an "American" )

I think I would prefer a "natural orange/yellow" tint to the view but can be convinced if other shades or tints are better.

At this stage a fully dedicated solar scope is not in the cards.

Thanks!
