Nice one Glenhoun.. I had a similar experience for the Transit of Venus in 2004.. 11x70 binoculars pointed at the sun, with a piece of white card behind them. I took a picture of the card with a 2mp digital camera and got results similar to yours

The Transit of Mercury last year was great fun.. definitely a big lead-up, but a bit of a fizzer on the day with clouds and windy conditions making imaging and observing it very difficult.

Still was a great event, and great to see the images and read the reports on the forum. I'm looking forward to Venus in 2012!
