240mW should burn your hand in an instant, no matter what color you are. My 130mW does instantly. So I'm guessing you're getting maybe 10mW of green light, and 240mW of unfocused, very harmful 808nm or 1064nm invisible light. Usually they're 250mW pump diodes and they put 240mW there because they're unfiltered and actually do give out that much light, but it isn't all visible.

If you'd like to keep your eyesight, I recommend buying a IR filter off of eBay that'll fit over the aperture of the laser to protect your vision as not even a second at 240mW will damage your eyes forever.
