Yeah, it's an IE6 on win2k thing, Geoff. You would probably also have problems loading some secure sites with IE.
And yes, Firefox is great
It probably appears faster though because Firefox displays the page as it loads, while IE tends to wait until the entire page is loaded before it displays anything.
