I live in a suburb of Adelaide called Blackwood. It is located about 15 Kilometres from Adelaide in the foot hills. Skies are OK for Observing and most Astrophotography. I can see about 60% of the sky.
For local dark skies I go to either Mount Barker about 20 minutes further east or to Paris Creek which is about 40 minutes from my place and heading South East.
Then for really dark skies I drive 2 1/2 hours to my block on York Peninsula. Nice dark skies out there, just need to get the local council to place shrouds over the street lights and it would be perfect.
