If there was a local dealer for the Feathertouch, I would have it in my hands now. Its the best non-motor option. The next best would have to be the Petersons upgrade. For motorised options I would look at the JMI motor focuser for the primary mirrror (has a good braking system) and there is the Meade 1206. The JMI and the Meade both can be controlled by the Autostar if you have the APM 909 module, though this is a bit finicky. However this also provide Computer controlled focusing via the Autostar PC connection.

I might go Crayford eventually when i setup a permanent pier with wedge on it. This still will not be good for imaging near the pole but u could get most of the sky this way. However I hope to be adding a 80mm piggy back widefield DSO work, and use the 8" as the guide scope.

Here is a question for the experts out there, why can we not have an option for a Crayford to be added after the Diagonal?
